Holistic Development: The education system at DIS, besides providing an all-round education intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically, also offers guidance in critical thinking, social openness and in purposeful research. Students are given opportunities to nurture their inner talents as well as to be aware of national and global issues, while contributing to the healthy development of the needs of their own school campus and community. Homework is given to encourage and develop independent study skills and to complement particular fields of study. A homework timetable is issued to all students who are required to complete the work as assigned by subject teachers.

International Standards: The CBSE Board is futuristic and has been at the forefront of the recent education reforms and keeping in line with its philosophy of keeping pace with changing times. The Board follows the cafeteria approach and an inter-disciplinary policy with regard to choice of subjects. There is a wide spectrum of subject choices for students.

Higher order thinking: Is encouraged as reflected in the assessment policy.

Boarding: In boarding we provide a home away from home where we maintain traditional values in a family atmosphere. We develop in the whole child a desire for truth, decorum, courtesy and high-achievement. These values are the cornerstones of success.

The Right Environment: We have developed our school infrastructure with an aim to maximize the potential of each student to constantly learn, reduce distractions, enhance focus and remove any form of discomfort or difficulty. To aid this, our school campus is designed to incorporate the principles of ergonomics at all levels. Our classrooms are spacious making sure the students can focus on the lesson. We have specially designed furniture in each of our school classrooms that make sure the student is comfortable all throughout the school session.

Other facilities include: A fully equipped medical center with requisite first-aid as well as a trained medical professional. Safe transport for students to school and back in buses that are comfortable, clean and professionally managed. Each bus has a specially trained driver with GPS and speed limit tracking.

Sports: At DIS the sporting infrastructure is second to none in India. Immaculately groomed fields for cricket, football and hockey are only the beginning of the experience: we also have courts for, volleyball, badminton, and basketball and a international standard swimming pool, a yoga room, plus a vast space for cross-country running and other outdoor pursuits.

Nature Classes: The nature based class activities that we conduct at DIS are fun, engaging and easy to understand and awaken children’s senses, minds and hearts. Children need to go outside to both learn and play. Time outdoors helps children to develop a sense of spirit, independence and confidence. During the classes, we provide a natural space where children can run, play, dance, sing, squeal, shout or be silent in this outdoor space. They stand, kneel or crouch to paint or create the creatures, birds, trees, flowers and grass, which are all around us. The children develop a beautiful relationship with Mother Earth. They get to feel who they are, happy and free.

Boarding Facilities: At DIS we provide a home away from home where we maintain traditional values in a family atmosphere. We strive to develop in the child a desire for truth, decorum, courtesy and high-achievement. These values are the cornerstones of success. We provide an environment whereby students can develop their intellectual talents in an atmosphere of positive encouragement and in conditions that are conducive to work. Daily prep is well-structured, supervised, orderly and silent. We encourage students to participate in activities in an atmosphere which values effort. We help students to develop qualities of leadership and teamwork and we encourage students to become fully involved in the corporate life of their rooms and to recognize and support the needs of others through service to their peers. Boarding builds self-confidence, independence, the capacity to interact with adults and fellow-students, self-discipline and a sense of direction. Throughout the experience of boarding friendships are made which last a lifetime and a sense of identity with the school is forged strongly.
